Expedition Overview

Located in the heart of the Sulu Sea, the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most pristine and biodiverse marine ecosystems. Protected and isolated, it’s only accessible by liveaboard during the short dive season — making every expedition a rare and exclusive experience.

🐠 Why Dive Tubbataha?

  • UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993
  • Part of the Coral Triangle, the global center of marine biodiversity
  • Home to 600+ species of fish, 360+ coral species, 13 species of dolphins and whales, and nesting hawksbill & green sea turtles
  • World-famous for encounters with sharks, manta rays, whale sharks, and large pelagics
  • Protected area with zero permanent human habitation — a true ocean sanctuary

🌤 Dive Season

Mid-March to Mid-June
This window offers calm seas, excellent visibility (up to 40 meters), and the best chance for big marine life sightings.

🛳 How to Get There

  • Fly into Puerto Princesa, Palawan
  • Liveaboard vessels depart from Puerto Princesa for the 10–12 hour overnight journey to the park
  • All dives are conducted directly from the liveaboard — no island facilities or day trips

🌱 Conservation & Sustainability

Tubbataha is a strictly protected marine park, and Dive Kultura works closely with local rangers and the Tubbataha Management Office.
Your expedition helps support:

  • Reef monitoring and ranger patrols
  • Marine research and education
  • Sustainable tourism development for future generations

💬 Travel Tip

Due to its protected status, diver slots are limited and booked well in advance. A minimum of Advanced Open Water certification and 30+ dives are recommended.
